Back from the extended weekend.

We ventured down to the promise land and now we are home. I was surprised to find the kitty's still locked up in the back room. The last couple of time we locked them back there they have managed to get out. Once they went over and the other they went around the barricade. We had a good time down south eating and sleeping and eating some more. Sometimes eating and sleeping at the same time by the way I felt. The weather was crappy, non stop rain and wind that was worrisome at times. The neighbors down the road form my parents had there T.V. antenna bent down to the roof line. I swore I could hear a train in the wind at times. It drizzled on us most of the way home but cleared just in time for us to do some grocery shopping. We needed to grocery shop because we haven't done so in several weeks. We are home safe and sound and listening to some CDs I received over the weekend. Tomorrow it is back to work and I am not looking forward to it. The weekend was just too quick.

Get it over with.

This week, as you may know, my boss has been gone. I think when she leaves the crazy shit karma comes in full effect. Stuff that never happens in everyday average day of work happens 2 to 3 times a day while she is gone. Monday we were the busiest than we have been in months which was a bad sign to start off with. Tuesday we had the Physicist checking our machines to make sure that we are within limits and can stay in business which is a once a year thing, no big deal right. The big deal comes in when the company that does regular maintenance drops in a tears down one of our X-ray machines without telling us and it hadn't been checked out yet. If they didn't get it back together in time for the Physicist to check out then he would have to reschedule another visit. Sounds harmless right. This means a couple thousand dollar reschedule. Yeah nice. Luckily with literally moments to spare they got it back together. So I was a little stress yesterday and I got a little hot under the collar. Catastrophe averted for the day. Today I had a co worker come in and hour early which we have been beat over the head to avoid any overtime. So she sat and pouted for an hour until she could clock in and when she did she had a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Usually she is NOT a morning person and the goofy person that I am I try to cheer her up but today I didn't have the resources to be a cheerleader for her so she just had to stay in a bad mood all day because I wasn't going to hear it. I kind felt like she figured it out by the end of the day as she did talk to me a little bit just before I left so we will see what tomorrow holds. I am giddy with anticipation. Giddy like a bomb defuser second guessing to cut the red or green wire. If we have may more day like we have had I think I would take a job as a bomb disposal because if you have a bad day, the suffering would be over in an instant.

Weekend wrap up.

These last couple of days have been very relaxing. Staying at home and sleeping late. Yesterday we rolled out of bed around 10:30. This morning it was 10:45. The only bad thing about sleeping late is the day goes quicker but sometimes it is worth it. I ventured out this morning to get fixins for tacos. I have been craving a Taco Bell run for awhile but just can't seem to get there so this is the next best thing. Next week my boss is going to be gone to Cleveland for training so we have to fend for ourselves. This usually means that there will be extra work and extra responsibility while she is gone. Not necessarily a bad thing but it seems to wear me out mentally. Next weekend we are venturing down to the promise land to visit the family. I can't wait it has been over a month since we have been down there and it feels like even longer.
Needles and I have been on a movie watching spree of late. We watched Talladega Nights sometime ago and enjoyed its southern white trash off the wall humor. One of the most notable lines was " I'm gonna come at you lika spider monkey!" We were hoping for a bit more out of the show but it was O.K. Another recent purchase was The Covenant. Just think The Craft but with boys. I enjoyed The Craft and was hoping this would fall in line with it. It was again O.K. but fell short in the ending. The special effects and wire works was very well done. The leaps and dives through the air were exaggerated but didn't shout " I'm hooked to a wire and flying around!" Movies that shouted this blatantly was KILL BILL and some other martial arts combat movies. The most recent movie we have watched was Clerks 2. It lived up to the original it is pre West Wing type banter back and forth and some of the antics from the old cast was entertaining even though you were questioning there sanity at times. The only difference in between the two movies is that this one ended in more of a happy ending. If you remember the original movie there was an incident with Dante's girlfriend and a elderly customer that made you cringe. This one has an incident that is all out morally WRONG! It is amazing that something so bad can be oddly entertaining in the end. Over all the movies were entertaining and I guess that is what they set out to do. I would have to say that Clerks 2 was the most entertaining as I laughed out loud several times and got its foul sense of humor.
The sun is out and the temperature is rising to melt the snow away. I think sometime tomorrow it will be mostly gone. The high tomorrow is going to be 52 so goodbye snow. I guess I better get off of here and enjoy what is left of the weekend. Hope everyone has a good day.

The Last Of The White Stuff.

Last night the snow started and Needles and I could care less. I don't really mind that it snows it is just we both don't like driving in the stuff. I drove many miles in snow when I worked up north and had to drive a couple hundred miles a day a few days a week. Traveling on US70 with semi trucks in front and to the side shedding sheets of ice and large salt and road grim encrusted boulders of ice and snow. Needles had and unfortunate accident , several years ago, when we first started dating and she was coming to see me on New Years Eve. There was snow and ice on the roads and due to a slow driver in front of her she didn't have enough momentum to get up a ice covered hill and looped the truck into the ditch. Ever since she has avoided driving on the stuff as much as possible. I guess I really don't mind driving on it. I mind more the local yahoos that I meet on the roads and the idiots that drive 10 feet off my rear bumper when there is snow and ice. Years ago Needles and I ventured out of the house when we had gotten several inches of the fluffy white stuff and drove out in the country on roads that no one had been on since the snow. It was neat and we got a lot of pretty pictures. It was as if we were miles and miles away from everyone and we would slowly make our way busting our way through small snow drifts and places were we weren't quite sure where the road is ocean of white in the wind swept soybean fields. It won't be here long as it is supposed to warm up next week and get into the 40's and 50's. Today we just stayed in and sipped coffee. The only venture outside was to the front porch to get the mail. Tomorrow will probably be more of the same. Be careful out there.

Here comes the ice and snow.

I worked today while Needles stayed home and cooked me ham and beans. She is the bomb. Well I may be the bomb later but that is besides the point. I am glad she stayed home because it was getting slick out there when I came home at 3pm. Of course the idiot drivers that I seen tailgating drives me nuts. When I got into the driveway and on the concrete where the old garage used to be I hit the brakes to see just how slick it was getting. I was maybe going 5 mph or less and I slide 6 feet. Walking back to the house after I put the Jeep in the garage was slow go as the rocks in the driveway had about an 8th to 1/4th inch of ice coating them. It is supposed to be changing over into snow soon. They are predicting up to 5 inches by the time it is all said and done. I am hoping that by tomorrow that the roads will be clear. Come on salt fairies please sprinkle some more salt on the roads. The salt you sprinkled last week has been washed away by the last 2 days of rain.
The picture is a bush that on the South side of the house.

Guns Don't Kill People, Cartoon Signs Do.

I am not sure if you have been following the news about Boston and Aqua Teen Hunger Force signs but I think this has been blown way out of proportion. Apparently Cartoon Network placed light brite type blinking ads featuring Mooninite leader Ignignokt and his sidekick Err giving passersby the finger. Ads promoting the fries-beef patty-and-beverage trio that make up Aqua Teen Hunger Force were also set up in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and five other major U.S. cities, but Boston was the only locale to report any concerns. The signs had been up for a couple of weeks before the 911 calls started rolling in. Boston official say that the ads cost the city $800,000. Does this mean that some Bostonians are so uptight that you couldn't fit a greased Boston baked bean up their butt. I think that some Bostonians have lost our minds and have let terrorist fears over shadow their lives. Its's a freaken Sign! Cartoon network responded by reimbursing the city 2 million dollars and the Chief of Cartoon Network resigned. I am glad that some Bostonians have aided terrorists in limiting our civil liberty's. To the threatened Bostonians I think the Aqua Teen Hunger Force signs had the right idea. To quote Cynical "Bitch Please!"

Almost as good as new.

NO PICTURE BECAUSE BLOGGER SUCKS!

As you may have read that a couple days ago while at work I hurt my neck. I am not sure how I hurt it but I hurt non the less. Yesterday I called in after I got up and got dressed I noticed my neck still hut but I thought I would try to go to work and If it hurt too bad I would come home. That train of thought derailed when I brushed my teeth. My neck hurt so bad that I got a little nauseated and dizzy. I called in sick and returned to bed after I downed a Flexeril ( Muscle Relaxer). I woke up at around 10am got up ate a bit and went back to sleep on the couch with a heating pad on my neck. I woke up again a few hours later and watched some T.V. only to find out that there is nothing on in the middle of the day worth my attention. I would watch T.V. in between dozing off. The range of motion seemed to get some better as I was able to turn my head left and right but raising my head to look up was out of the question. Another Flexeril and a good nights sleep later my neck didn't seem to change much until around noon today. Other than being a little sore my neck is back to normal with all of the motion I had with it before. Thanks for all the well wishers and I hope this doesn't happen again. Tomorrow is Friday and I am ready for it. This has been a long week.

Thanks for playing.

I hope you got a enjoy the trip down memory lane with the classic cartoons. I have to give kudos to Rudy as he got them all right but who do you think was right there beside me in the floor those many Saturday mornings. The second one on the bonus was Jace and the Wheeled Warriors. I think blogger has been having an issue with pictures as I have noticed in the last few weeks that the pictures posted on other blogs don't come up right away, if at all.

Today I had to come home early. I woke up fine , got ready and went to work only to get slammed by a sore and stiff neck. I suffered with it all day until my boss noticed me holding my head weird and asked if my neck was stiff. About an hour later she told me to go home. I didn't argue as by then every movement started spasms. When I walked out and into the cold weather my neck locked up. I couldn't even turn to back out of my parking space. I slowly backed out checking mirrors and hoping I wouldn't back into anyone. Since I have been home I down a muscle relaxer and took an 2 hour nap. I am now camped out on the heating pad. I seems to be a little better but I hope I will be back to 100 % by tomorrow. As for snow fall total up here. It didn't even cover the grass. I should be a weather man.

Brrrrrrrrrrr!

It was ass crack crazy cold this morning. On my way to work I pass by 2 digital temperature signs. I missed seeing the first one as it cycles through messages and then flashes the temp, but I usually try to guess what the temp is before I get to them. I guessed 10 degrees. When I arrived at the sign I gasped when I saw 0 degrees. I knew it has been cold but this was the coldest morning so far. Supposedly we are in for a snow event. 1 to 2 inches is the forcast but I don't think we will get much. A dusting of the white stuff is my prediction. Time will tell.

My brother and I even ate breakfast in front of the tube so that we wouldn't miss anything. Here is the challenge. Comment me the names of all the programs with their corrisponding number. We will see how much you remember. Some are easy and some are a bit harder. Good Luck!

COLD.....Weekend.

Today is cold. Not as cold as yesterday but cold non the less. Needles and I got out of bed promptly at 8:30. We had scrambled eggs for breakfast chased with a couple of Snicker doodle cookies from Pepperidge Farm. I know it sounds like a healthy breakfast. After our meal we went to the bank to cash some checks, pay some bills and order some checks. On our way home I was going to stop in and change my Conseco annuity and roll it into a Fidelity IRA but they weren't open so we went home to sip coffee and pester the cats. I think we are in for the rest of the day. It's too cold and I have already chased my trash can down the driveway once today due to the wind. I know we live an exciting life.

It's Groundhog Day!

Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don't forget your booties 'cause it's cooooold out there today.
It's coooold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?

Not hardly. And you know, you can expect hazardous travel later today with that, you know, that, uh, that blizzard thing.

That blizzard - thing. That blizzard - thing. Oh, well, here's the report! The National Weather Service is calling for a "big blizzard thing!"

Yessss, they are. But you know, there's another reason why today is especially exciting.
Especially cold!

Especially cold, okay, but the big question on everybody's lips...

On their chapped lips...

On their chapped lips, right: Do ya think Phil is gonna come out and see his shadow?
Punxsutawney Phil!

Thats right, woodchuck-chuckers - it's

GROUNDHOG DAY!

These are a few lines from one of my favorite movies.
Today was a groundhog day miracle. We did 6 Mammograms 2 of them being diagnostic which takes longer. 2 CT scans. 4 X-rays and 3 liver biopsys. All this in 8 hours and I got out of there at 3pm. It's a miracle.
Have a great weekend everyone.
