I got GAS!

As you might have read on Needles Blog. They had a gas main rupture maybe due to the heaving of the ground because of the sub freezing temps we have had lately. I was told we were without gas around 2pm and at 5 pm they came to shut off the meter. At 8:30 pm I was informed by Rudy that it was fixed but it would take several hours for them to get to us to turn on our gas and light the pilots. I was patient for about 45 minutes and then I had to turn it on myself. When I got home the house was at 62 degrees. With both quartz electric heaters going we gained about 3 degrees. With single digits outside they were just barely keeping up. After re lighting the pilot the central heat we were up to 66 degrees in just 15 minutes. Now that we a re nice and toasty I think I will get a better nights sleep. You just don't think to much about modern conviences until they are no longer working. I have gas and I am proud of it.

Didn't want it to end.

As you know Needles, Ragged, Cynical and I went to the Big City and stayed the night in a chalet. The amenities was very nice and we had a great stay and visit with Cynical and Ragged. After meeting at the OG and being treated to a free appetizer due to the staff oversight, we got our fill of Italian and made our way to the bookstore. After Needles made an exchange we then headed to the park. After 2 wrong turns getting there I was wondering if we were going to make it on time. We then arrived at the park and had to wait a bit for the key pickup. After we received the key we made our way to the chalet. We unloaded and sat around and hammered out plans for supper. A quick run to pick up groceries and we returned to fill out belly's and sip coffee and warm by the fireplace. Last night the heater rattled so Needles and I didn't get much sleep. I went down stairs to to turn off the heater and cranked down the thermostat only to kick on the A/C. I finally fell asleep at about 6 am and slept an hour before we needed to get up. I kicked back on the heat and got a shower. Needles and I descended the stairs to Cynical and Ragged preparing coffee. We had doughnuts for breakfast and chatted awhile until time to load up. It was a great experience , but then again any weekend we get to visit with Ragged and Cynical is a good one, and I think we have tentative plans do it again in Sept. but for 2 nights.

Leaving Fuzzy Behind.

Copper with green mousetache and Tugger

Copper mid meow looking up.

This weekend we are going south to spend the weekend in a chalet with Cynical and Ragged. Through several emails I think they are hammering out details like. Where to meet, where to eat, what to eat and what we are going to do? I really don't have much input into the weekend. If they tell me to go there and eat this that's fine. I want a evening of just visiting and enjoying each others company. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
Please enjoy the pictures of our fuzzy housemates.

Snow is HERE! Sort of.

Friday night Needles and I visited with Rudy, Brando, Yuri and Yin. We sipped coffee and I played with the kids until it was bed time. Yesterday was a good day. Needles had to make a run to Eville to pick up here uncle from the hospital. I stayed at home and kept the home fires burning. I watched a lot of T.V. I surfed the internets and ate leftovers in the fridge. I was a slug. Today we awoke to snow and Needles fixed scrambled eggs for breakfast. We now are relaxing with a warm cup of coffee and I see the inner slug in me coming out again today. Maybe enough energy to do some laundry later. We will see.
With the huge amount of snow we got I may go outside and build a snowman. Yeah right.

P.S. Needles and I have a theory. When it snows, kitty's brain cells shrink and they go crazy. Well crazier than they already are. They have been ripping through the house this morning.

AWWWWW CRAP!

Today I was at work. It was going great. It was a Friday and I was looking forward to the weekend. I then receive a phone call. The voice on the other end was familiar but I didn't recognize it right away. After a few words I then knew who it was....It was Rudy. He called me at work to inform me that gas was less than 2$ a gallon here. I unfortunately made the comment several months ago that we would never see gas less than 2$ a gallon again. I thought those days were long gone, like the Dodo bird or do I mean Doo Doo bird, anyway to continue on with my comment I said that if we ever saw gas prices below 2$ a gallon again I would Crap my pants. Today was the day so here is a picture to commemorate the occasion.

Remember I am a professional....DO NOT try this at home.

Classic football stance is the way we duz it round here.

Here is me again with a little Dodo in my pants. ENJOY Rudy and the King of Halloween.

Nothing Says I LOVE YOU Like...

If you read Needles blog you now know what we have went through in the last 20 or so hours. It has been somewhat stressful and I am glad everthing has worked out. I hope Needles uncle gets to come home Sunday. Today after work I went to check on Needles truck that was in the shop and settle up. I paid the bill and it popped into my head. This is what I can get Needles for our ten year anniversary.....and maybe Valentines day as well. Nothing says I LOVE YOU like a brand new right front wheel bearing. Now that IS love. :)I know. I know. You don't have to say it. Needles is a very lucky gal. Not just any guy would think to give the love of his life truck parts for their 10 year anniversary milemarker. I know I am special....the voice in my head tells me ay least 10 times a day. What's that? I gotta take a nap now. The voices are telling me to. Goodnight.

P.S. If you can't tell I haven't slept well all week. Last night I think might have pushed me over the edge to insanity.

Rainy Weekend.

Caption: What is this lovey contraption? sniff sniff.
Above is a glove for our fuzzy housemates given to us by Jenny from the Blog. She thought they had to have it. Copper says thanks Jenny.

Needles and I woke up way late for the rainy weekend. It is a weekend none the less and we are going to enjoy it. After rolling out of bed at 10:00am I fixed toast and eggs while Needles prepared the 89 ers blend (coffee). We noticed that the 1 pound bag of whole bean she purchased not too long ago is half gone. So now we are watching T.V. and sipping coffee while watching Copper and Tugger take on the look of croissants on the carpet in front of the heater. They stretch, yawn and change positions only to cook the other side for awhile. With the weekend wide open we are not sure what to do. I know that I need to pull the windshield washer tank out of Needles truck and patch it. We also need to make a run to the grocery store sometime. I see we might be getting some ice late Sunday or Monday. Time will tell. I guess winter is finally going to get here.

Caption: MINE!

Thanks Jenny for Coppers new found obsession.

Copper is now in the Morris 9Lives clinic for CAA (catnip addiction anonymous)

Tacos and Trek Trek.

Today was a decent day but I was still ready to come home. When I arrived home after I put things away I reclined on the couch and I must have fell asleep because I had a dream Needles was home and getting ready to prepare supper. I awoke thinking that this happened in reality and decided to call my Mother. After I got off the phone I went into the kitchen to help Needles and she wasn't there. I looked at the clock and realized Needles wasn't home yet. Now that was a weird sensation. After Needles got home we prepared tacos and relaxed in the living room with Star Trek Enterprise in SCI-FI. This is the first time I have been able to watch this saga of Star Trek. I have to say that only 1 and a half episodes into it, I have to say...Not bad. I think I might have to check out the other episodes. Live long and prosper.

Weekend review so far.

Today is Saturday and since Needles had to work I went to visit my brother, niece and nephew. I was fun wallering Yin and Yuri around and hearing them laugh. Rudy and I sipped coffee while watching wildlife animal rescue or something like that. It was a guinea pig, duck and turtle that helped other animals in need. Who thinks up this stuff and what are they smoking. I understand the idea of having talking animals but all reality goes out the window when they build a boat with a sail, wheels and marker caps sticking out he backside. The markers are apparently rockets that allow this sailboat with wheels to fly. If the things flies then why does it have a sail and wheels? I think the writers are taking the pot.
On another note. I met Needles after work and we went out to Applebys to use a gift card I received from Xmas. Needles had the brick chicken and I had the Applebys riblets, even though I had Trace Inn ribs last night. I am a bar-b-que freak. I think I would breath bar-b-que if I could. We are now home and relaxing and thankful that Needles don't have to work tomorrow.

PS. After a bit of research I found out they are called Wonder Pets. Lippylippyloooo.

Friday is here.

Today was nice....busy but nice. My boss seemed to be in good spirit which definitely improves the overall tension of the department. I think her foot she had surgery on has been bothering her pretty bad over the last couple days. Notice a bit of a limp in her walk yesterday. I am just glad the work week is over. Unfortunately Needles may have to work either one or both days over the weekend. We are hoping that if she does have to work that it will only be one day. Today has been wet and dreary. Maybe we will get a little sun over the weekend. Have a good weekend everyone.

Fresh New Start...

Hello 2007. I hope that you are a damn site better than 2006. We had a nice visit with my family over the New Years holiday. We also got to visit with Cynical and Ragged although fleeting while we were down there. Today was tough to return to work. I enjoy my work most of the time but it just seems like I am spending more and more time fixing other peoples mistakes. I am about to get sick of it.....Maybe it is time to look for another job. I know I haven't even be at this job for much over a year yet but it seems things are quickly getting under my skin. I have noticed that my boss has been a bit moody lately and I wonder if this maybe rubbing off on me. My boss has recently sold her house and it seems that ever since she has been a little on edge. They are supposed to be looking for a new house soon and when they find one ,things will smooth out. Not much else to say so I guess I will wrap my first post of 2007 up. I wish it could have been one with a lot of optimism and hope but I am just not feeling it right now.

CACHE SLASH FEST 2007 (page)

THIRD ANNUAL CACHE SLASH FEST

SATURDAY OCTOBER 20th, 2007

This annual event is located in Sumner, Illinois and is being hosted by King of Halloween, Wolf Pack 359, STP10 & Knttrgrl, Mike Anderson 1492 & Whistlin in the dark and friends.

We would like to welcome Geocachers from all over to Cache Slash Fest 2007. We will have prizes, giveaways, and a Murder Mystery Cache with a grand prize. Again this year we hope to have several donations from area businesses. We hope to have something for all attendees. There will be several permenant caches in the area that will be activated the day of the event and will be loggable. There will also be a night cache trip, just for a scare. So bring your flashlight.

We will have a bonfire for roasting hotdogs which will be provided. Ice tea, coffee, hot chocolate and chips will also be provided. Bring a covered dish, drinks of your choice, and lawnchairs. Bring your kids too because we will have ours and there will be stuff for them to do.

The start time of this event hasn't been offically set but we plan to eat around 4 pm. Come and meet with fellow cachers and check out why the stretch of road between Wolf Pack 359 and The King of Halloween's house is by far the scarest in the county and possibly all of Southern Illinois.

Decorations provided by King of Halloween, Wolf Creek Cemetery & Ravenwood Hollow.

The T-Shirts will be available again this year and here is the design. If you are not familiar with the design it is a variation on a design by Edward Gorey's The Gashlycrumb Tinies. He was the artist in the opening credits for the PBS show MYSTERY. I thought it would be fitting with the theme of the event. The pricing and ordering information is also in the works. Keep checking back for further details.

Please post if you plan to come and what you plan to bring as a covered dish. We would like to know if you plan to attend as soon as you know so that we can have a head count to help with planning. Last year we had alittle over 100 attendees and would like to beat that. We also had attendees from several states and are always thrilled to add more states to the list.

If you would like to see how much fun we had the last couple of years please visit these links:
