Today Part 2.
I just got a few of my jobs for today done. I mowed and trimmed at Mom and Dad's, I changed the oil in the Jeep, I sprayed the lawn for weeds, I stapled up a coax cable that I ran during the winter, and fixed a window that had been painted shut for over a year. I think I am done for the day other than a few items to do inside. Tired gotta rest for a bit.
Yesterday and Today.
Yesterday was a busy day at work and I was still able to get out of there at 3pm. After I left I meet Needles at her work so that we could go out to eat as a early B-day dining out. We got to Appleby's just as a torrential rain storm let loose. We sat in the Jeep for several minutes waiting for it to let up. It seemed like the wait was forever. It did eventually let up to a regular rain and we scurried inside. Needles had the Angus burger and I had the Casadilla burger. By the time we had finished the rain had stopped and I dropped Needles at her truck for the separate ride home. We both arrived home within a minute or two of each other. When I got inside I asked if she had seen the wreck on the way home and she said she had. As she described the wreck it didn't sound right so I asked which way she went home. I travel the old road and she travelled the highway. We saw two different wrecks at about the same time on two different roads. I guess the rain must have been very heavy as I heard we got a half inch within 15 minutes or so. I noticed a gravel driveway on my way home that had a gully washed out of it a foot wide and 4 to 5 inches deep that wasn't there before. There was a pile of gravel in the road 6 inches deep and about 3 feet radius. After we settled in at home I decided to try out our new projector. We watched a couple movies on it to see how well it did. We even arranged the furniture a bit for better viewing. Since it was better to have all the lights out in the house, it was almost pitch black other than a little light from the street lights coming through the curtains. I don't know if it was the storm moving through of because of the diminished lighting but the cats were running the kitty 500 through the middle room. They zoomed back and fourths in front of us several times during the movies. I sat some pillows to dissuade them but that just turned it in to hurdles. Today with the day wide open it is hard to decide what to do. There a a few items that have to be done but they are no fun. Actually all of the items are no fun but need to be done non the less. I guess I had better get started. Have a good weekend everyone.

Just another day.....I don't think so.
Today I worked and came home my usual time. When I got home the yard was needing mowed so for the first time this year I mowed, trimmed and raked some old leaves that had blown into the landscaping and mowed them up too. Shortly after I was done Needles rolled in supper was started. While supper was being prepared by my darling Needles I noticed an ambulance rolled in front of the neighbors across the street. Then a second ambulance showed up. We were wondering which of the three people in the house might be injured. Several minutes later and no one had taken the stretcher out of the ambulance and no one came out of the house. This either means that it's something minor that was being treated without a trip to the hospital or something bad. 10 minutes then 20 passed and still no one came out of the house. One ambulance crew pulled out and the other backed in close to the house. About 10 minutes later the stretcher went in and came back out with it's passenger covered from head to toe in a red velvet bag. Of all my neighbors I know the ones across the road the least. I know that there were 3 people in the home. A couple in there 50's and the mother of one of them. I did see the husband so I know it wasn't him. Please keep them in your thoughts as they are going through this difficult time.

She's Back
Play Set from Hell Part 2.
Yesterday after Needles and I got up we had scrambled eggs , toast and coffee for breakfast. I had plans to help with the play set at Rudy's. We started at 10am and worked for a couple hours until we broke for lunch. I was a beautiful day outside so we had ham and cheese sandwiches on the patio. After lunch we got back to the project. We worked through the difficulties of the boards not being labeled and then ran into a couple of other boards that were miss drilled. The pre drilled holes in the boards were wrong so we had to re drill them correctly. We also ran into a hardware shortage but a neighbor down the street had some galvanized wood screws. Unfortunately we still didn't finish it ,even working until 7pm last night. The light was gone so we decided to stop. I would say we are 85 to 90% done with the play set. Rudy and I was in the sun enough yesterday to get our first sunburn of the year. I would have to say they I think this is the earliest sunburn I have had. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the best part about yesterday. Early on while we were still decking the top of the play set Rudy was the only one on the set when he got a little too close to the front edge before we staked down the play set. The whole thing tipped forward and Rudy with his cat like agility sprang from the teetering tottler trapeze and rolled to safety unharmed. I told Rudy as soon as I found out he was unharmed that it was good for a blog post. so here it is. Today I think we are just going to veg out at home.

Friday Night Relaxing.
I am glad the week is over. We have had one hell of a week. It has been nuts at work. Mom and Dad has been in town so I have been spending most evenings with them this week. They are returning home tomorrow. Needles started on the second round of Sock Madness. She received the pattern at 4pm Thursday and didn't get to start it until close to 7pm. By midnight she had a completed sock and the start of the second. We then went to bed. Today after getting up a little earlier than usual and working her usual 8hrs she finished her second sock around 7:20pm. Just a tick past 24 hours. I think all in all she finished both in roughly 10 hours. On another note yesterday was possibly the worst day in a while for several reasons. First of all we were very busy. I left at 3pm with things that needed to be done but my boss wouldn't authorize the overtime so it was left to the evening shift. I hate doing this because when I go to work the next day , depending on who is working the evening shift, it isn't done or done correctly. Yesterday after I left all hell broke loose. The place was busy with multiple outpatients and E.R. patients and in the middle of it all the film processor decide to eat 4 of the six films put through it. During his incident there was a phone call for one of my co workers. The kind of phone call that you never want to get. Her brothers girlfriend had been in a car accident. A BAD one. She had to be life flighted to the nearest big city for treatment. Words like inter cranial pressure, coma and brain dead were being discussed but it looks like the next 48 hours will be the critical. Keep her in your thoughts. As for the plans of the weekend, I am schedule to help Rudy with the Play set from hell. I hope to get it finished tomorrow depending on the weather. Cross my fingers.

The weekend is over.
Here it is Sunday night and I thought just 48 hours ago I was thinking, Boy what will I do? The whole weekend is open and I am able to just relax and lounge. The weekend plans didn't call for enough lounging if you ask me. Today I went to Rudy's house and helped him start the play set assembly. We opened the box to realise that all of the labels had fallen off the boards and were in the bottom of the boxes. This means that we have to dig and search for every board, measure and look in the instructions to see the screw hole patterns in the wood matches what we need. Overall we spent half the time searching for the boards we needed. We finished for the day on step 15 after about 3 hours or so and there is just 85 more to go. At this rate we should be done by next Winter. I would like to find out whoever decided to label these board this way and beat them with a label maker.
This is what I felt like doing to the play house when I saw that there were no labels. I just hope when and if we get it done that the kids have fun.
The picture was edited by me with a new Wacom pen, tablet and software editor that Needles got me. Thanks Needles. I am still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles.
I did get to spend time with Yin and Yuri and actually got to see and feel the untamed power of potty power. It was cute to see Yin setting on her potty with her diaper next to her on the floor, neck craned to watch the images of 2 and 3 year old walking by a trash can disposing of their not needed diapers. It just astounds me that there is a potty training DVD and then I kick myself for not thinking of this myself and making millions from it.
Behold the power of poo...

Where did the day go?
How he lays like this, I haven't a clue.
Today I got up around 8am and waited for sleepy head to get up and start our day. About 10ish she got out of bed and we prepared for our plans. The plans were to deliver a old sofa that we had been storing in Needles yarn room to her friend Jenny from the blogs house. After we made the delivery we decided to go to Ophelia's Cup and had lunch. Jenny had the crab burrito, Needles had the great big gorgeous salad and I had the rockin roast beef sandwich. It was all very good and we were glad we decided to go there to eat. After that we ventured to Wally World were we made a few purchases and headed back to Jenny's house. We sat and chatted while QVC was on the T.V. after seeing a multitude of Irish items form sale it was time for supper so we went to the local Chinese Buffet and gorged ourselves until we were food drunk and ready for a nap. Returning Jenny back to he house we chatted for a bit an then it was time to go home to feed our furry housemates. We hung some new curtains we got today and I did a load of laundry. Now we are relaxing until time to go to bed. It was a nice day and we will see what tomorrow holds.
It is amazing how something so cute can be such a pain in the backside.

Water go bye bye.
Yesterday after I got my shower I decided to clean the drain. Not the most glamorous of jobs but something that needed to be done. I cleaned it as best I could and then while Needles got her shower the water started to back up in the tub. I tried a plunger and no go. I went to the local grocery store and purchased a drain cleaner and followed the instructions and still no go. While at work today I discussed my dilemma with a friend that works in maintenance and he had a product for me to use. I brought the cleaner home and dumped it in and hear all sorts of noise emanating from the drain. About an hour later still no go. Needles called and was going to stop by the store and asked if I needed anything. I asked for yet another drain cleaner. After dumping it in I thought for sure this would do the trick. An hour later the water was going down but very very slowly. We opted to pour some steaming hit water down the slow drain and after a few minutes........Eureka! Success. We now have a functioning drain. I ran hot water down the drain for several minutes just to make sure. Before the bathroom sink when full would take about 20 seconds to drain. Now bout 5 to 6 seconds. I guess with all the products that I put down the drain is like new and I am very happy that the situation is over with.
On another note the furry companions have several toys in which to play with and they lay all over the house and they don't move one inch from day to day to indicate they are not being played with. The other day I cleaned out the tub and sink with some cleaner and a plastic scrubby thingy. I laid it on side of the tub for the water to drain out of it and dry out before I put in back under the sink. About 10 minutes later I see Copper run through the house with it in his mouth. I jumped up and chased him which caused Copper to drop it. I was worried that there might be some residual chemical in the scrubby so I put it on top of the bathroom sink and hide it behind the towel to let it dry out. Apparently I forgot about it but Copper didn't . Tonight as we were watching T.V. Copper dashes through the living room with an extremely large bushy green mustache. I chased him an hold him to drop it which made him run all the faster and dart in and out behind the furniture. After a short chase he dropped it and I finally put it away under the sink in the cabinet an out of the reach of furry people. He looked somewhat disappointed about it so I retrieved a brand new blue scrubby from under the sink and let him have it. We have been playing fetch with it most of the evening. When you pick it up he looks at you as if to say. Throw it! Throw it now! He gets so excited he gives short meow type noises like he can hardly contain his excitement. He's not right. It is late and I am hearing the bed calling for me. Getting up in the dark again sucks.

Hello Tammy Faye!
Friday evening after work Needles and I decided to do some long needed grocery shopping and go out to eat at one of our local Chinese restaurant. While we were in Wally World we noticed a lady walk by with her hair up in one of those banana clips from the 80's. This being somewhat unusual drew my attention. When I glimpsed her face the first thing that came to my mind was Tammy Faye Baker meets Boy George. It looked like she had troweled on the make up/spackle. In fact she wasn't a very attractive woman anyway and I question if SHE might really be a HE. I snapped this picture so if you think you might have a clue as to the gender of the person.
Here is the picture.
Nice Weekend.
Today while Needles ran away to the knitting get together in town. I visited Rudy and the younglings. We played outside as it was nice today. Rudy blew bubbles while Yin ran and spun trying to catch the soapy spiracles. Yin was also a big help in blowing bubbles for Yins enjoyment. We had bubbles wafting across the yard , the road and the neighboring cornfield. After bubbles lost their appeal we ventured to the big city for Burger King and Wally World. We returned home just in time for Yins nap and I returned home to see if Needles had made it home. We are both now home and enjoying the rest of this relaxing evening. Needles is still knitting away on her Sock Madness sock and I am comfortable being a couch potato the rest of the evening. Have a good weekend.

Weekend is almost over.
Yesterday we awoke rather late, 9:30ish and after sipping some coffee we noticed we didn't have much for breakfast in the house so we did the only thing there is to do in a situation like this. Called Jenny from the blog and went to O town, picked her up and after a brief visit to Clay Bank ( natural food store) we went to Taco Bell for breakfast. Nothing like a couple of spicy chicken crunch wraps with fire sauce to wake you up and get the day under way. After that we made a run to Wally World and then returned to Jenny's home to visit for a couple of hours. OK more like the rest of the day but when you are in good company the hours fly by. We returned home around 7:30pm. Today Needles went to see her family and while she was gone I managed to get some house work done. I unloaded and loaded the dishwasher and ran a load of dishes. I did 3 loads of laundry and folded them. I vacuumed and de haired the furniture. I cleaned up the kitchen and bathroom and got a shower. Now I am relaxing on the couch with some hot coffee and surfing the Internets. Hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I think I had a productive day myself.

Needles and I ran across this channel the other night. Channel 275 on DirecTV and so far so good. I think Needles likes the fact that they are playing Twin Peaks. We watched part of the Shining last night but turned it when The Daily Show came on. I hope this channel does big things around Halloween. We will see.

Here A Trek, There A Trek, Everywhere A Trek Trek.
I was gone last night and didn't get to watch my TIVOed Star Trek Voyager. I have been watching it over the last couple of weeks. I came in just before the vanishing of Kess and the introduction of miss form fitting uniform and all her curves 7 of 9. I did manage to watch a few episodes that Kess was in and thought that they did seem to base a lot of the plots around her at the time which made me wonder why they got rid of her. Later research suggested that the fans at the time voted her off. I guess she just didn't have what it takes to gain Trek fan loyalty. I have enjoyed the episodes I have watched. I think Capt. Janeway is the weak link in the Voyager cast and this maybe the writers fault. She sometimes plays the roll over the top. Puffing out her chest to show how big and bad she is in awkward moments (Year of Hell when the crew suggests abandoning ship). The cast around her seem to constantly spew lines that make her have to defend the ship, like she is the only one that believes in the ship. It just seems plan awkward at times. Like the lines were thrown in there to make the fan respect her more. Maybe the writers sensed the weakness in her character and needed to put a line or two in there like a cattle prod to jolt the respect right out of you. Some of the show concept seem to be direct knock offs of ST:TNG . Voyagers Random Thoughts seem to be way to close to ST:TNGs Justice. The endings were different where TNG just broke him out and ran where Voyager took a more legal approach but the overall concept was too similar for me. I have enjoyed the Enterprise series and it's light hearted quirkiness at times. They make mistakes and there are some serious moments but overall fun to watch. I think it was more in keeping with Gene Roddenberrys concept of the show. Anyway I don't think I will ever watch Deep Space Nine as I think this was the worst of the Star Trek spin offs. I watched a few of them but could never get into it. I think they may have jumped the shark when Ben Sisko became some all powerful profit entity and just seemed to get a little religious almost like the universe revolved around him. Oh well I guess I have blabbed on about this enough and by now you know that I didn't have much to talk about but I wanted to post something so here it is.
